David F. Griffin

A native of Muskogee and third-generation Oklahoman with over 30 years’ experience in the media industry, David brings valuable business expertise and expansive knowledge of the state’s media and multimedia landscape to the family-owned organization. Most importantly, he is dedicated to furthering Griffin’s reputation as Oklahoma’s most reliable, trustworthy and informative media company.
David’s grandfather and father founded and led what is now Griffin Media and informally introduced him to the world of local television. He formally joined the company in 1990 working in various roles and was promoted to general manager shortly after. After the acquisition of KOTV from Belo in 2000, he became CEO of what is now Griffin Media and Griffin Investments.
David is dedicated to developing, growing, and investing in Oklahoma. He serves as a board member for numerous nonprofits and industry organizations including the Inasmuch Foundation, the Kirkpatrick Foundation, the Westminster School Board of Trustees, the CBS Affiliate Board and the National Association of Broadcasters. Additionally, he is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization and frequently contributes to and supports various charitable causes aimed at cultivating and improving his beloved home state.
In his spare time, David enjoys spending time with his family, attending his kids’ football and soccer games, cooking, fly fishing and seeking new adventures.
